If you happen to be in the area, apart from Monemvasia and the castle-town, you can make short excursions to the surrounding mountainous villages in order to enjoy the magnificent view and the traditional taverns (6 – 8 km). You can also visit the picturesque harbor of Gerakas and try the fresh fish (20 km), or even Neapoli town and Elafonissos, the small island, just 10 minutes from the port of Neapolis (45 km).
